One Block Short Blog

Progress, we are making it.

It’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve updated this weekly blog and that usually means two things. Either I’m so busy I don’t have the time to update the blog or I’m so lazy I can’t be bothered updating the blog. In any case I’m updating it now so stop complaining.

A lot can happen in the space of a few weeks. Unfortunately it’s never enough. Rather then releasing the first short in our new series “Yet to be named” we are making them all at the same time! Who’s crazy idea what this? Anyway don’t expect the first to be released until early next year when we start rolling them out every week!

This will make sence in a few months

So far, we have written and finished most of the scripts for the first season and we have started building sets for the first few episodes. On top of that we are talking to people about specific roles, music and voice acting. If you want to help out then this isn’t the time to message us! We will let people know either here or more likely via our Facebook page and twitter thing.

Keep being awesome and talk to you all soon.

Things to come and why I hate Skyrim…

In the cesspool of mediocre game titles, bobs the smelly indefinable blobs that everyone looks at. Not only do these blobs capture everyone’s attention, they mesmerise them until they fall face first into the chunky depths. The disgusting point I’m trying to make is Skyrim is one such chunky blob.

In the past week, Skyrim and my self control have been locked in battle over my time and attention and so far, casualties have been great on both sides. I’ve played around 30 hours since its release, which is troubling since I have yet to finish the main quest, but at the same time we have made work towards the next Minecraft project.

Have you been playing Skyrim? What do you think of it?

Update Attack

So rather then working on seven minute epics that take months to complete, we are focusing our time on smaller comedic sketches that aren’t as long but released more frequently. We are still working out the details so it will be some time before we start releasing them but we have started some early tests on a few complicated shots so we will keep you updated on our progress.

On a final note, thanks to your support on the latest video, The Door. We were thrilled to see the positive response and repeated shouts for MOAR and we were just as happy to see the Bedrock Breaker get a second breath of wind.

Till next week

The first of many…

You’re here because you’re either a spam bot, someone who just came from our channel or my mother. In any case, welcome! This is the temporary home for One Block Short while we work away at a shiny new website.
I would first like to thank everyone who has watched, subbed or liked any of our videos and I ask that you continue to do so. This not only boosts my ego to new heights but let’s myself and the others who help out continue to create great content for you guys!

The reason this blogs existence is it takes a long time to produce each short, we are all new to video production after all so instead of spamming YouTube comments with “where’s the new video” and “MOAR”, we will be update the blog about our progress every week. Along with the updates, exclusive behind the scenes screen shots and pieces of text you won’t find on our YouTube channel so it pays to subscribe to this blog with your favorite RSS reader and visit often.

And if you have then you have access to this limited edition link below that will get you first access to the map used in The Door along with the texture pack and exclusive signs that tell you about the production. It’s like a DVD commentary without the audio or annoying copyright jargon at the beginning.

I could continue but no doubt you have already downloaded the map and setting fire to it as we speak.
